Policies and procedures
In the desire to be effective and fair to all of our clients, and out of consideration for our therapists’ time, we have adopted the following policies:
cancellation policy
In most cases, a 24-hour advance notice is required when canceling an individual appointment. Group or Couples appointments require a 48-hour advance notice. Cancellations made more than 24-hours (or 48-hours) of scheduled appointment can reschedule by calling 504.338.5516 or sending an email to eve@massagebyeve.com with scheduled information and the new desired date and time. You will receive an email confirming the change. Please note that if the desired appointment is not available you will be asked to provide alternative dates.
If you are unable to provide the minimum 24-hours (or 48-hours) advance notice you will be charged the full amount of what would have been your session fee including any gift certificate or voucher applied towards the service. Our massage therapists must be compensated for reserved sessions.
Late Arrival Policy
Unfortunately, late arrivals will not receive an extension of the scheduled appointments. Under certain and specific circumstances, and when our schedule will allow, we may be able to accommodate a partial or full appointment.
Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment.
This will be at our discretion and only with proper, advanced notification of your late arrival and based on availability. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for original service fee.
No Show Policy
No call/No show forfeit the full service amount including any gift certificate or voucher applied towards the service. Our massage therapists must be compensated for reserved sessions.
Client Needs and Boundaries
MBE Therapists are happy to adjust pressure, musical volume, focus on a specified area, or move on per request.
The client may choose to: disrobe to his/her level of comfort leaving as much clothing on as necessary to ensure comfort, refuse any massage methods, stop massage at any time, and is free to leave.
The client will always be modestly draped. The Massage Therapist will only undrape the area being massaged.
The Client can choose to talk or remain quiet during the session. The amount of conversation will be guided by the client.
It is not uncommon to experience an emotional response to or during a massage. If this occurs, the client is free to express the feelings in our safe, nonjudgmental environment.
MBE provides 100% professional massage therapy services.
We DO NOT accept requests for sensual massage and no sexual advances or acts of any kind will be tolerated. The session will immediately be terminated, and the client will be responsible for full payment.
Scope of Practice
MBE therapists are licensed professionals and held to the highest standards of the Louisiana Board of Massage Therapy.
Massage Therapy practitioners apply therapeutic manual techniques, such as soft tissue manipulation and stretching, with the intent to positively affect the well-being and health of the client.
Under no circumstances will the Massage Therapist diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions nor are they able to provide treatment for a specific condition without the supervision of a physician. Your massage therapist is required to refer you for diagnosis as well as follow your physician’s recommendations.
Existing and New Medical Conditions
It is the client’s responsibility to keep the massage therapist informed of any changes in health conditions as well as any changes in medical treatments received or being taken. If necessary, the client may need to provide written permission from the treating physician for bodywork to continue. For clients undergoing chemo and radiation therapies – Please note that we require a doctor’s note that states the doctor is aware of, and agrees to, the desired treatment.
MBE services are not intended as an alternative for proper medical attention for specific conditions.
